Mir-Ali passed away suddenly of natural causes July 2, 2014. Ali was born in Salmas, Azarbaijan on May 15, 1954. He graduated from the polytechnic institute in Tehran, with a degree in architectural design. He also graduated from Utah State University in 1982. Mir-Ali was a great father and provider not only for his family, but countless other needy families as well. He also provided generous financial support to various orphanages worldwide.
Ali loved nature, backpacking, running, coaching youth soccer, hunting, and fishing. He ran several marathons, played soccer, swam and cycled.
Ali went to work for Western Building Maintenance in 1982. He was a partner with Bret Vaterlaus for many years. He then began a career as a contractor and a savvy investor. Ali loved to buy, improve, and sell property, and was very good at it.
Ali's greatest love , was family and friends. He and Zina were blessed with one son, Amir. He was very proud of Amir for continuing his education while operating his own construction business.
Ali will be remembered by all who knew him for his joy of life, personality, since of humor, integrity, hospitality, accomplishments, and love of America.
Mir-Ali is survived by his son, Amir, and his wife Zina, his two brothers, Mohammad, and Manachehr, as well as many other orphans whom his mother, Anna raised as her own. The funeral will be held at Aldon Waggoner Funeral Chapel at 5400 W. Fairview Ave, at 9:30 am, on Thursday, July 10th. Burial will follow at Morris Hill Cemetery on Latah Street. At 12:30, following the burial, friends and family are invited to lunch at the Golden Corral at 8460 W. Emerald Street.
From 8-10 P.M there will be a prayer ceremony at the mosque at 4243 N Cloverdale Rd.
