Molly Carolyn Doan passed away on October 30, 2021. She was in her home, with her son and daughters present. Her passing concludes a life of smiles, laughter, and love.
Born June 19, 1933, to Claude and Vivian Moon, she joined an
older sister Francis. Molly grew up in Gridley, Ca., attending Gridley schools,
and then Yuba College. In 1953, she met and married Pete Doan, a young man
stationed nearby, while he was in the service. Their young family grew in those
early years, resulting in four children, Duane, Kathleen, Julie, and Paul. As
Pete worked for the Bank of America, transfers and moves occurred frequently,
with them residing in Yuba City, Gridley, Woodland, and Dixon, Ca. While in
Woodland, Molly worked at the County Courthouse. Settling in Dixon, the kids
were raised. Molly worked for Ron Dupratt Ford as their bookkeeper.
Lifelong friendships were forged while in Dixon. In 1976, the family moved to
Escondido Ca., where Molly worked many years for Quality Chevrolet, until she
retired. In 2005, Pete and Molly moved to Boise Idaho, joining their son and
his family. Subsequently, Kathy and Paul followed to Boise with their families.
Julie and her family purchased a home in Boise, spending large portions of the
years to be near family.
Molly joins her husband of 58 years, Pete, along with son
Paul, in the afterlife. If there is a heaven, she is well qualified for
membership. Survivors include son Duane (Nancy) Doan, daughter Kathleen (Ron)
Marr, and daughter Julie (Rick) Sylvestri. She leaves eleven grandchildren, and
sixteen great grandchildren.
