Nicholas James Jonopulos, 62, of Nampa, died on December 20, 2019 in a local
hospital. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 11:30
a.m. with viewing starting at 10 a.m. at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 Fairivew Ave., Boise, Idaho, 83706. Interment with military honors will follow
the service at 2 p.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
Nicholas was
born on January 6, 1957, in Omaha, Nebraska, to William George Jonopulos and
Dorothy May Clapp Jonopulos. He graduated from El Modena High School in Orange,
California. He was a member of the US Navy and was part of the Seabees. Nicholas
worked for Jeff Luchetti Construction as Project Engineer, before being disabled
for the last 10 years. He married Laureen Vasquez on July 1, 2006, in Santa
Clara, California. Some of his hobbies included Needle point, Baking cookies and
making caramel corn. He loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles, classic cars, country
music concerts and Nascar. He was a avid San Francisco 49er and San Francisco
Giants fan.
Nicholas is survived by his wife Laureen Vasquez; his brothers
and sisters, Michael and Collette Jonopulos, Athena and Gilbert Gonzales,
Kenneth and Beth Colombini, Anthony and Tracy Colombini, and Stefani and Steve
Dimauro; numerous nieces and nephews, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He
was preceded in death by his parents.
