Noel Burgbacher Jordan joined her
late husband Clive Jordan on Tuesday, September 8 after passing away
peacefully. She was 83 years old.
Noel was born on December 11, 1931
to Ralph and Elsa Burgbacher. Growing up in Los Angeles, Noel became an avid
water sports fan and participant, starting a lifetime of sport and activity.
After moving to Arizona in 1949, Noel and her family were long invested in the
history of Arizona, including generous contributions to the Clear Creek Church,
a preserved religious landmark in Noel’s adopted hometown of Camp Verde.
Married to Clive Jordan, Noel and
her husband spent much of their time being active in sports - water skiing,
diving, swimming,
fishing
and snow skiing. Noel and Clive were
active members of the Phoenix Ski Club, traveling across the world to ski in
beautiful places. Skiing was also an activity the couple passed along to their
children and grandchildren, taking trips to Big Sky in Montana and skiing
locations throughout the west.
Noel and Clive loved traveling with
their family and spending time in Rocky Point, Mexico. Long time members of the
Cholla Bay Sportsman Club, Noel was an institution around Cholla Bay and
competed annually in the fishing derby. Her love of the ocean also translated
to her children and grandchildren, teaching each of them to fish and enjoy the
ocean.
Art was an enormous passion and
interest of Noel’s and her work will remind her family and the world of the
beauty of nature and the importance of creativity. She was a highly regarded
realistic artist focusing on scenes of nature. This love of art is something
she shared with her daughter, Jeni.
Noel’s family (daughter Jeni, son J,
son-in-law Mike, daughter-in-law Cathy and grandchildren Eamonn, Elsa and
Ezekiel) wish their grandmother peace and will enjoy memories of their time
together as she joins her husband.
In lieu of flowers, please send
donations to the Idaho Food Bank in Noel’s name.
