Oscar Eduardo Saavedra, 62, a
resident of Boise, Idaho, died July 9, 2012 at St. Luke’s Medical Center after
a short illness. A Mass will be held in his honor Thursday, July 12, at the
Saint John’s Cathedral at 10:00 am. A Rosary will precede the Mass at 9:30 am.
Oscar was born May 30, 1950 at
Douglas, Arizona, to Ygnacio and Maria Aguilar Saavedra where he lived through
high school before moving to Phoenix to attend Arizona State University to
study Architecture. He remained an avid and loyal Sun Devil fan his entire
life.
After college, Oscar worked in
Arizona for several Architects before moving to Boise in 1990. In Idaho, he
worked for Architects Lynn Brown and Larry Knopp.
Oscar is preceded in death by his
father; and survived by his mother; his older brother Robert and sister-in-law
Cindy Saavedra; and his sisters Norma Hurtado and Anita and brother-in-law Tom Asztalos.
Survivors also include nephews Carlos
Hurtado and Eric Asztalos, together with nieces Tara Query, Bobbi Marie Torres,
and Debbi Asztalos as well as 11 grand nieces and nephews that are his loving
family.
He will be forever missed by his
family and dear friends in Arizona and Idaho.
