Patricia Ann Willis

Patricia Ann Willis passed away peacefully, of natural causes, on August 25, 2021, at St. Alphonsus hospital.  Pat was born on February 27, 1940, in Ontario, Oregon, to Lawrence and Reathel Smith.  She grew up in Yellowpine and Stibnite, Idaho, and graduated from New Meadows High School in 1958.  She married Don Willis on December 27, 1961, in New Meadows.  She was preceded in death by her son Philip, her parents, her brothers Darrell, Jack, and Ronnie; and 2 sisters-in-law: Alfreida Smith and Barb Smith.  Pat is survived by her four children: Lisa, Don (Nicole), Tom (Tab), and David (Kathy); her 10 grandchildren: Rich (Dana), Tyler (Shay), Megan, Coby (Katie), Hailey, Mackenzie, Marilyn, Delaney, Charles, and Quinn; 5 great-grandchildren: Aly (Carver), Logan, Fletcher, Waylon, and Jack; her brother Gary, sisters-in-law Myrna Smith and Marlene Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored.

Don worked for the Forest Service and he and Pat moved their family to various locations in Oregon and Washington during the late 60’s and 70’s. They divorced in 1979 and Pat and the kids moved to Riggins, Idaho, to be closer to family. She raised her kids in Riggins and made many life-long friends, during her time there. Pat moved to Boise in the mid-90s, to be closer to her kids, and in 2018, she moved into Arbor Village at Hillcrest Assisted Living, and resided there at the time of her death.

Pat was a wonderful Mother, Grandma, daughter, and sister, and a friend to many. She is known for her beautiful smile and sweet spirit. She worked very hard to raise her children and was a fierce Mama Bear who would do anything to protect her family. She was so much fun and absolutely loved to laugh. She was also a devout Christian who loved Jesus with her whole heart. Her family is devastated to lose her but thankful that she is no longer suffering and is in Heaven, with her loved ones who preceded her in death. We were so blessed to have such an amazing Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma, and will forever miss her love, smile, and laughter.

Our family is very grateful for the loving care she received at St. Alphonsus and Arbor Village. We are also so thankful for the outpouring of love and support from our Smith and Willis families, and many, many friends, during this difficult time.

Pat’s memorial service is on September 11, 2021, at 3 p.m., at Alden Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 W. Fairview Avenue, Boise, Idaho.  A graveside service will be held on October 10, 2021, at 11 a.m., at the New Meadows Cemetery.
