Patricia
Annabelle Morgan Henry was born on April 27, 1929, to Clyde
Cecil Morgan and Mary Margaret Kersey in
Colorado Springs
,
CO
.
Pat was 82 when she passed away peacefully in her home in
Boise
on December
22, 2011.
Pat graduated
from the
University
of
Colorado
where she met
the love of her life, James W. Henry, whom she married in 1950. They
then ventured to
Boise
,
ID
where they settled and since lived.
December 21 – the day before her passing – marked Pat’s
and Jim’s 61
st
wedding
anniversary.
Pat was
preceded in death by her mother, “Marge.” She is survived by her
husband, Jim; two daughters, Debbie Mellville (Gary) and Belinda Davis
(James) of Boise; three granddaughters: Jennifer Donovan
(Dan) of Spokane, WA; Elly Davis (Dennis Keefer) of
Boise; and Hallie Davis of Boise; and her two great-grandsons, Zach
and Evan of Spokane, WA, who were so very dear to her. She is also survived by her half-sister,
Nadine Roberts of
Gilroy
,
CA
, whom she met for the first
time in 2006. Nadine filled a very special place in Pat’s
heart.
Pat was
accomplished on the piano and accordion, and she excelled at dancing and baton
twirling. She enjoyed the culture and peaceful life that
Boise
offered and traveling throughout the
Northwest. Pat’s many hobbies included needleworking, crocheting,
knitting, crafting, and scrapbooking. Her special interests were bird watching
and gardening, and in particular, researching her genealogy, which brought her
into the world of social media and the internet. It was there that Pat
found and connected with Nadine.
Mom was
always the impetus and inspiration behind our involvement when it
came to activities – whether school-related or otherwise.
She never missed an event in which her daughters
and, subsequently, granddaughters were involved. Mom and
Grandma was always our staunchest supporter – no matter what. She didn’t
want to miss a moment – be it horse shows, ballet, softball, soccer, drill
team, cheerleading, musical concerts, theatrical performances, dance
recitals, and even exhibiting guinea pigs, chickens,
and ducks at the Western Idaho Fair – she was always there to
chauffeur, attend, and assist. Our mom was a survivor in so very many
ways given all the balls she juggled to make sure we didn’t miss a thing. Mom gave us her all.
Albeit
a [thankfully] brief crossing of paths, our family would like
to express our most sincere appreciation to Four Rivers Hospice and
to BrightStar caregivers, with special thanks to Andrea, Debbie, and
Candace for their kind and loving care of Pat and
for their unwavering support of our family.
A graveside
service will be held December 28, at 1:30 pm at
Cloverdale
Cemetery
,
1200 N. Cloverdale Rd.
, Boise. Arrangements
are under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise.
