Paul Wayne Franklin passed away February 21
st
after
a valiant year fighting brain cancer. He was 57 and is now at peace in Heaven.
Paul was born February 9th, 1956 in

H.S. in 1974. An ambitious and resolute young man, Paul married his high school
sweetheart, Sylissa McGown, on June 7th, 1975 and together raised two sons,

A talented photographer, Paul considered himself a

childhood interest in video and audio production, with over ten years
experience working on show like Music Week, The Miss Idaho Pageant, and the
Boise Philharmonic, became a lifelong business. Just 20 years old, Paul joined
Don Cederstrom in 1976 to build Custom Recording and Sound into the premier
audio/video recording and duplicating studio of the
Treasure
Valley

Paul loved to scuba dive. He and Sylissa, after certifying
in
Idaho
's cold mountain lakes, traveled to tropical
waters throughout the Caribbean, Central and
South America
.
Paul later became a certified Dive Master and enjoyed teaching others how to
dive and snorkel.
Together, Paul and Sylissa enjoyed trips around the world on
planes, trains and ships of all sizes. This included a reunion with his
Scandinavian heritage at the Bruvold farm still operating outside
Bergen
,
Norway
.
Paul had the patience of a rock and was a wonderful teacher.
His love and leadership were magnanimous. As a husband, father, businessman and
friend Paul Franklin is greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Sylissa,
his two sons, Darren and Nicholas, one granddaughter, Emma Gail, his sister
Carolyn Schroeder (Albert) of St. Helens, OR, his cousin Ginger Bruvold (John)
of Lake George, CO, and his step father, George Linney.
