Peggy Diane Gilbert, 73, of Boise, passed away on Monday February 20, 2012, at her home of natural causes.

A funeral service will be held in honor of Peggy on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise, with Pastor Edward Kerschensteiner of Boise Valley Church of the Brethren officiating. Graveside services will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery, Boise.

Peggy was born on October 16, 1938, to Otis Alvin and Clara Mary Young, in Nampa, ID. She attended Eagle schools and graduated from Eagle High School in 1956. She married Raymond Clyde Gilbert on December 24, 1955 in Eagle. While serving in the Air Force in England, their son and daughter were born. After a time in Mississippi, the family returned to the Eagle-Boise area. She was employed by First Security Bank and then Wells Fargo Bank.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Ronald Alvin Young; and ex-husband Raymond C. Gilbert.

She is survived by her son, Thomas A. Gilbert; a daughter, Raylene R (Scott) Kerschensteiner; Grandchildren, Claira (Brandon Rapp) Gilbert-Dee, Samantha Gilbert, Joshua (Sara Jones) Kerschensteiner, Troy (Jennifer) Kerschensteiner, David (Amanda) Kerschensteiner; Great-grandchildren, Oreana, Damon, Alli, Kelsey, Eli, Kylie, and Braylon; her sisters, Vicki (Vern) Nielsen of Logan, Utah, and Judy Young of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Memorials may be made in Peggy’s name to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY, 10018, or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to give a Special Thanks for the loving care given by her granddaughters, Samantha and Claira; also to Vonette and Jesus of Accent Hospice and to Jan of Comfort Keepers.
