at several major theaters in Hollywood, including the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre,
a dream job for her. She loved the magic of Hollywood with a passion and had an
encyclopedic knowledge of movies and movie stars. Her loving spirit made her
one of the best usherettes Hollywood had.
Penny and her future husband, Bill, met when children and shared their

family grew to include two daughters and a son. Bill and Penny were
inseparable, spending the following 57 loving years together. Her family meant
the world to her.
Lovers of animals and respecters of all life, she and Bill became
vegetarians in their thirties, a practice she adhered to for the rest of her
life. Penny always, said “Nothing should have to die in order for me to eat”.
She loved flowers and especially enjoyed old-fashioned fragrant sweet peas and
the smiling faces of her pansies.
Penny had a friendly and outgoing spirit which held so much love it
couldn’t help but spill out, making her an easy friend and wonderful mom,
grandma, and great-grandma. She loved the Lord and she embodied what it means
to be a Christian as she loved those around her. She attended many churches,
her last one being the Eagle Nazarene Church family.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Legacy
Hospice and Amber Lane Residence for their care and love during Penny’s last days
