Pfc Erik Lane Jorgensen, died on July 18, 2013 in Boise, Idaho. He was born on December 12, 1986 to Cindy Crnkovich Crow and Brian Jorgensen. Erik was a graduate of Half Moon Bay High School in 2005, and was currently attending Boise State, majoring in Construction Management.

Erik was a member of the U.S. Army, beginning basic training in Ft. Jackson, SC. He completed 91B1O (Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic) Advanced Individual Training at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. He was assigned to the 657 th Forward Support Company, 17 th Fires Brigade, in Ft. Lewis, WA, and served one year in Afghanistan – road side clearance. He was then assigned to Company D, 145 th Forward Support Company, 145 th Brigade Support Battalion, 116 th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team, Boise, ID. His military awards include, Combat Action Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal – 2 awards, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NATO Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Idaho Service Ribbon, and Driver Mechanic Badge.

Erik enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and mudding with his buddies. He was also an avid reader. He really loved spending time in the great outdoors with family and friends. Erik was a member of the American Legion Post 474 in Half Moon Bay, CA.

He is survived by his parents, Cindy (Larry) Crow of Half Moon Bay, CA, and Brian (Mary) Jorgensen, of Concord, CA; his sister, Dana Jorgensen of Half Moon Bay, CA; grandparents, LeRoy and Janet Jorgensen of Thompson Falls, MT, Julie Crnkovich of Kellogg, ID, and Mabel Becker of Hamilton, MT; step-brothers, Eric (Coby) Dahlstrom of Los Angeles, CA, Jackson and Dylan Crow of Kaysville, UT; step-sister, René (Jason) Domingo of Sacramento, CA; uncles and aunts, Frank (Cherri) Crnkovich of Wilder, ID, Mary Crnkovich of Missoula, MT, Kenny Peterson of Post Falls, ID, Todd (Judy) Jorgensen of Martinez, CA, Lynn (Roger) Broom of Antioch, CA; cousins, Jackie Pfaff (Ben) Little – Avery and Andrew of Rose Lake, ID, Travis (Tammi) Crnkovich of Melba, ID, Tyler Crnkovich of Kuna, ID, Katie Peterson of Post Falls, ID, Jenny Jorgensen of Oakland, CA, and Michelle Jorgensen of Driggs, ID; as well as numerous great-aunts/uncles and second cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Franklin D. Crnkovich.

Services will be held in Kellogg, ID on Saturday, 8/24/13, details pending and a celebration of life will be held Saturday, 8/10/13 in Half Moon Bay, CA, details pending. Erik’s ashes will be laid to rest with his beloved Grandpa Frank Crnkovich at Mountain View Cemetery in Mullan, ID. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise.
