It is with great sadness that the family of Phillip L. Burnett announce his passing on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at the age of 68 years old. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his sisters, Diane Miller and Carolyn Igel, his daughter Elizabeth, his son Tony, and his loyal dog, Gunner. Also his many loving grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews. Phil is preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Lorene Burnett, and his sister, Sharon Pambrun.
Phil was born in Boise on July 1, 1952. He worked in the press room at the Idaho Statesman as a photolithographic technician for 25 years, otherwise known as a “stripper.” If you asked him, that’s what he would tell you.
Phil’s pride and joy was his 1943 Knucklehead Harley Davidson. In his younger days, Phil participated in charity rides supporting Toys for Tots and other organizations. Throughout his life he enjoyed taking pleasure rides to California and through the mountains of Idaho. He loved nothing more than the feeling of the wind in his beard and the pavement beneath his tires. Phil would not say this is my friend, he would say this is my brother.
Phil will be greatly missed for his sense of humor, caring personality, and so much more.
Services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens.
