On April 9
th
in the year of 2013, the sun dimmed
and time stood still as Randy Hillman Hanson’s soul was carried home to be with
his Dad, sister, family and friends. Son,
Brother, Husband, Marine, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Dear Friend were just
a few titles Randy Hanson held during his 68 years of life. Randy, was never big on communication with words; if you
ever wanted to know what he was feeling, thinking or experiencing you’d have to
watch his feet. It has been said that “action
speaks louder than words”, if that be true; Randy was one of the loudest people
in the world. He never looked for recognition in his actions
or sought out compliments or words of love he found affirmation and love in
others actions and interactions with him. It was lucky for our family that Randy was
able to put up with those of us who used too many words; he would simply smile,
grunt and/or shake his head in an oddly loving way. Randy was survived by his mother Helen, wife Kathryn,
Sister Sue (Bob) White, Brother Bruce Hanson, Former wife Carol Hanson, daughter
Laura Hanson, son David Hanson, stepsons Chris and Jeremy Frix and four step
grandchildren. He was preceded in death
by his father Francis (Spike) Hanson and Sister Carol Hanson. Randy was born on 28 September 1944 in Ft
Dodge, Iowa before his family moved to Boise. Randy joined the Marines after graduating
from Borah High School and served 22 years achieving the rank of Master
Sergeant. He worked for Monroe
Technology approximately 30 years.
During that time he was a service repair technician and trainer on
various business and copy machines.
Randy enjoyed fishing, camping and target practice with his interesting
collection of guns. He enjoyed being
called “Grumpa” by the grandkids especially since they always left with a big
hug and gold coin. Randy
blessed many with his random acts of “good doobies”. He never looked down on someone unless it was
to help them up. Randy you will be
sorely missed . . . WE LOVE YOU MOSTEST!!!
