Raymond Earl Chaney, Jr.
, 66, of Indiana, died peacefully at home on October
22, 2013.
The family is honoring
Raymonds wishes that there be no memorial service.
Ray was
born on July 23, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio to
Raymond
Earl Chaney, Sr.
and
Ada Redwine Chaney. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force for several
years. Ray attended Indiana University for his B.A. and was a member of Phi
Beta Kappa society and also studied at the University of South Carolina for an
M.B.A. in international business. Ray worked at Teepak Corporation as an
accountant for much of his career. His hobbies included reading, music
appreciation, taking nature walks, and spending time with friends
. Ray's closest friends and family
fondly remember his sense of humor, ability to make people laugh, his
intelligence, and philosophical nature.
Ray is
survived by his former wife Annette Chaney, son James Chaney, daughter Tracy
Chaney, and two grandchildren James Jr. and Benjamin, as well as his aunt Libby
Redwine and cousin Celia Fae, and countless friends. Ray was preceded in death
by his parents.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to
the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes
Association.
