Robert "Bob" D. Payne

Robert (Bob) Dean Payne, born October 18th 1933, went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 3rd, 2025 after a courageous battle with Guillain-Barre' Syndrome.

Bob was born in Green City, Missouri to Joseph and Vera Payne. The family moved to Kimberly, Idaho before finally settling in Boise, Idaho. After graduating from Boise High School, Bob attended the University of Idaho where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. While attending college, Bob was a smokejumper during his summer breaks in McCall, Idaho.

After graduating from the U of I in 1955, Bob went on to be a 1st Lt at Fort Polk in Veron Parish, Louisiana.

Bob married Elizabeth Howze in 1957 and went on to have 3 boys: Robert Dean Jr, Steven and Michael.

Bob had a successful career at Albertson's for 43 years before retirement. 

Bob met and married the love of his life Vanessa Latta and gained 6 children Michael, Steven, Timothy, Pamela, Angela and Andrew.

Bob was a lover of golf, U of I, the Denver Broncos, St. Louis Cardinals and of course ice cream.

Bob is survived by his children Robert Dean Jr(Eleanor), Steven(DeAnne), Michael(Amy), Michael Latta, Steven (Hianna) Latta, Timothy (Irene) Latta, Pamela Latta, Angela (Jeff) Lindsley, and Andrew Latta. His grandchildren Katie (Jesse) Winningham, Robert Dean III (Bruna) Payne, Theresa (Scott) Spoeneman, Kristen (Charles) Anderson, Juston (Shelby) Lindsley, Cole Lindsley and Dane Lindsley, 4 great grand children, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
