Robert Leland Deal
Robert “Bob” Deal was born in Nampa, Idaho on September 26, 1940, to Arma and Leland Deal. He died on Tuesday November 5, 2024, at home in Fruitland, Idaho, with his beloved Janet by his side.
Bob was hardworking, a skilled outdoorsman and fisherman, artistic, kind, and lots of fun. He loved to sing and play his guitar. He was a great storyteller of his many adventurers in Caldwell; at University of Oregon; traveling Europe; in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; living in Alaska, the Oregon Coast, and Idaho; and rock hounding. He maintained very close relationships with friends from Caldwell High School including Al Hagler, Dick King, and John Hull who always had each other’s backs.
He is survived by his beloved Janet Wilson, sister Marilyn (Deal) Buxton, nieces Susan Elizabeth Buxton (Grant Walden) and Carolyn Buxton Bridges (Dan Bridges), and nephew Richard Leland Buxton (Juliette Buxton), great nieces and nephews Mckell Walden, Sam and Andrew Bridges, and Thomas and Elise Buxton, and his blended-family sisters Shirley Bilbao, Sharon O’Neil, Arlene Pinkos, and Patti Mays. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arma Anderson Deal Warren and Leland Deal, and brother-in-law Richard Lewis Buxton.
The family would like to thank his many healthcare providers at the Boise Veterans Affairs Medical Center for their kindness and care of Bob over the last several years.
