Robert E. “Bob” Marks, 78, of Boise, died Tuesday,
August 2, 2016 in a Meridian hospital of natural causes.
Bob
was born on June 12, 1938 in Boise, Idaho to Beula Root Marks and Leland H.
Marks. He grew up in Boise and received
his education there, graduating from Boise High School in 1956. . He
went on to attend and then graduate in 1960 from college at Northwest Nazarene
University. On August 12, 1960, Bob married
Joanne Martin in Nyssa, Oregon. The
couple moved to Livermore, CA where they lived for 11 years while Bob worked at
the University of California Berkley as a Nuclear Physicist. After
moving back to Idaho in 1971, he was a successful realtor for many years. One
of his accomplishments was opening the first RE/MAX office in Idaho.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and bird
watching. He was an active member of the
Nazarene church, serving in various ways.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne Martin Marks,
Boise; son, Geron Marks, Boise; son, Doug Marks, Boise; brothers, Darrell
Marks, Nampa, and Bruce Marks, Nampa; and his granddaughter, Kaylee Marks,
Boise. He was preceded in death by his
brother, Earl Dean Marks, St. George, Utah.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday,
August 9, 2016 at the Tree City Church, Fireside Room. His brother-in-law, Executive Pastor Terry
Martin will officiate.
