Robert Edward Burris
Jr. (Bob) passed Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the age of 74. Bob was born February 9, 1939 in Hempstead,
NY, to Robert Edward Burris Sr. and Dorothy M. KerriganWells. Bob married Glenola Weatherman on June 28,
1960 in Hawthorne, CA. He resided in New
York where he was born, Redondo Beach, CA, and Livermore, CA, and moved to
Idaho in 1989. In 2009 he retired from
Ada County. Bob and Glenola were foster
parents to hundreds of children from California to Idaho.
Bob enjoyed fiddlin'
in the garage, building things, fishing, camping, trips to Reno and traveling
to softball tournaments. He had a
special interest in collecting coins, swimming, diving, boating, motorcycles
and old cars. Bob was a member of the
Elks and Carpenters Union.
He is survived by
his wife Glenola; daughters, Robin Wisely, Carie and Ron Rodrigues, Sherrie and
Craig Price; grandchildren, Rodney Burris, Aaron Wisely, Joshua Fanopoulos,
Randy Burris, Aarika Adams, Steven Wisely, Jennifer Vasquez, Shannon Wisely,
Cassidy Rodrigues; ten great-grandchildren; mother, Dorothy M. Kerrigan Wells; and
siblings, Dorothy Hammond (CA), Lynn Krumpf (FL), Donna Bray (ID), Richard
Burris (CA), George Burris (ID), Karen Burris (CA), Debra Burris (CA), and
Michael Burris (CA). He was preceded in
death by his father, Robert Edward Burris Sr., sister, Gladys Birk, stepmom,
Grace D. Burris, and stepfather, Everett Wells, and goddaughter Janice Marie
Reyes.
A graveside service
with military honors will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at
the Idaho States Veterans Cemetery.
