Robert
Emerson Brooks (Bob) was born August 6, 1935 in Mountain Home, Idaho to Irving
C. and Wilma L. Brooks. He passed away
peacefully September 4, 2014 with the loving support of family beside him. Bob was a hard working honest man with a
sense of humor he kept until the end. He
will be missed by many. He loved his
family and worked hard all his life to support them while setting a good
example of exceptional work ethics. Bob
liked cars (especially clean cars), horses, hunting, his cowboy hat, and a good
western on TV.
Robert
lived in Mountain Home and on their family ranch at Long Tom Reservoir until
1953 when their family moved to Eagle, Idaho.
Bob attended Meridian & Mountain Home High School. He married Lavone (Bonnie) Ayers on August 6,
1955. Bob and Bonnie lived in Garden
City, Idaho until 1971 and then moved their family to a farm near Star. Bob's life work was truck driving. He took pride in taking care of the rigs he
drove whether they belonged to a company he worked for or a company he
owned. During his career he earned
several awards & made many friends in the trucking industry, and they
admired Bob for his work ethics. Bob
began his career as a company driver progressing to owner/operator &
eventually building his own trucking company.
After
suffering a stroke in 2002, Bob's children cared for him while trying to help
him maintain his independence and dignity.
Bob was proud of them all and loved the time they spent with him.
Bob was
preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie;
his parents, Irving and Wilma Brooks;
