Robert (Larry) Lawrence Hibner, 85. Larry died peacefully in
his sleep on Sunday evening, August 16, 2015 in his home.
In his words, “Well let me put it this way…” He was a son, a
father, a brother, a husband, a step-father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather
and a friend. He will be remembered best for his kind heart, many talents,
constant work, repetitive moral stories, contribution to the church (Balboa
Baptist Church in San Francisco, CA) and his yellow tape measure suspenders.
He was born in Happy, Texas but grew up in Northern New
Mexico where he spent most of his childhood years. Larry joined the Navy before
completing high school but went back and finished school receiving his diploma
after completing his two year enlistment. He had a variety of jobs in his
earlier life but settled into a career as an old-school cash register mechanic,
retiring in 1992.
He lived in San Francisco for most of his married life.
After the passing of his wife and step-son Larry moved to Boise, ID leaving
behind many beloved friends in 2010 to live with his daughter Vicki.
He is survived by two sisters, Marge Wickersham and Milly
Williams; 5 children Stan Hibner, Vicki Dueno, Cher Hibner, Rebekah Hibner, and
Melanie Rasor; 3 step-children Amy Cesteric, Gayle Lepp and Curtis Riddle; 27
grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
There will be an informal memorial ceremony at Red Fish Lake
on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Please contact the family after
