On June 5th, 2016, Roberta Marie
Buffington-Irwin, 55, of Garden City, Idaho, passed away peacefully after
surrendering to complications of pancreatic cancer in a Boise hospital. She was
surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Roberta “Bert” Irwin was born on October 20,
1960, in Boise, Idaho. She was the daughter of Robert Buffington and Jewel
Coralie William-Weatherly. She is survived by Husband, Jody Irwin of Cascade,
ID; her Daughters Misty Myatt (Drew), Alexis DuBois (Clint) and Nichole Snell;
her Sister: Cathy Buffington; and her Grandchildren Kelsey, Kaleb, and Taylor
and many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents,
Robert Buffington and Jewell Weatherly and her siblings Ethel McRoberts and
Michael Allen.
Roberta spent her childhood in Emmett, ID and
Boise, ID; graduating from Boise High in 1979. On June 26, 2004, Roberta
married the love of her life, Jody Irwin in Cascade, Idaho. Throughout her
life, Roberta lived in various places including Cascade, Emmett, Boise and
Garden City.
For 10 years, Roberta worked alongside her
lifelong friend, Sherry Hester at Flying J. She went on to work for Ada County
Operations for over twenty years. Roberta loved to crochet, ice fish, camp, and
curl up with her favorite book. She also enjoyed going to the horse races,
spending time in Cascade, and preparing large dinners with delicious food for
her entire family. During road trips, her passion for history inspired frequent
pit stops to read historical marker signs. Mom was also very talented at making
beautiful floral arrangements.

choice.
A viewing will be held at Alden-Waggoner Funeral
Chapel, Thursday, June 9
th
, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.,
Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
Burial will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery.
