Roger Lee Allen, 70, of Garden City, died Saturday, May 10, 2014 at his home of
natural causes.
Roger was born February 13, 1944 in Welch, West
Virginia the son of John Henry and Mona Cline Allen. He grew up in Pineville,
West Virginia out side of the small mountain town where he loved to run and
cause mischief with his bothers. His family moved to Northern Idaho when he was
18, A year later they moved to Boise where he got a job at Biltmore
manufacturing where he met his "Jodyanne". He began attending the Followers of
Christ church with her and was babtised Febuary, 14 1965. He married the love
of his life JoAnne Herron on May 28, 1965.
Roger was a hard worker, he
started his first job at 13 sorting the rotten fruit from the good fruit
at Buddy Cook Market. He was employed by Truss Joist Company for over 25
years. He finished his working years and retired from the Meridian school
district in building maintenance.
Roger's favorite times were spent
with his wife and family camping and fishing in the mountains . He and his wife
owned a place in Donnely, Idaho where He spent his summers with their kids and
grandkids sitting around the campfire. Every where he went you would hear
him singing or whistling with his beautiful voice. Roger loved to tell stories
to all the kids, sitting in his rocking chair all of his kids loved to listen,
his best being the story of Jack and George. Roger always grew a big beautiful
garden in the summer, always sharing with who ever came by. Roger was a one of a
kind with so many little things he did that made him so very special to family
and friends . He will be missed each and every day.
Roger is survived by
his wife, JoAnne Allen; his daughters and their husbands, Shannon and Butch
Sevy, Paula and Jeff Monch, and Kelli and Rusty Randolph; grandchildren, Buddy
Sevy, Clayton Sevy, Veronica Vlahos, Cody Sevy, J.J. Monch, Tanner Monch, Aurora
Randolph, and Julia Randolph; one great-granddaughter, Hallie Sevy. He is also
survived by his brothers, Ugene (Shirley), Danny (Lavern), Sue (David) Smith,
Tommy, and his twin brother, Ronald (Diane); numerous nieces and nephews and his
brothers-in-law and their spouses, Tom and Barbra Herron and Joel and Kathy
Herron.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law and
father-in-law, Paul and Susie Herron; two brothers, Ray Allen and David Allen;
his sister, Peggy; three grandchildren, Brock Edwin Sevy, Natalie Lynn Sevy, and
Jody Lynn Sevy; and sister-in-law Kathy (Porter) Herron.
