A military
honors service and burial will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at 11:00 am
at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
Russell
attended Berkley Elementary School in Westwood, New Jersey. After a family move
to Colorado he attended Drake Junior High and Arvada High School in Arvada,
Colorado.
He continued
his education at Oregon Institute of Technology. Russell also attended
where he earned his bachelor’s degree.
Russell
married Judith Watson on August 25, 1984 in Klamath Fall, Oregon. They resided
in Klamath Falls, Oregon, Renton, Washington and Prineville, Oregon before
moving to Nampa, Idaho in 2006.
Russell
worked for Mark Anderson & Associates, Les Schwab Tire Centers, Outland Steel
and Stapley Engineering.
Russell
served in the Army. He was stationed in Vietnam and West Germany. He was
honorably discharged in 1969.
Russell was
a diligent, caring husband and father.
He enjoyed playing the guitar, gardening, barbequing and making his
special smoky salsa. Russell also studied the scriptures and was learning
Hebrew. He enjoyed long meaningful conversations and was an avid lifelong
learner.
He is
survived by his wife Judith, daughters Amber and Emily, son Ian, stepson Jonah,
grandchildren Ashton, Kira and Porter, his bother Steven and sister Susan,
sister-in-law Mary and his niece Jennifer and nephews Eric and Brian.
