Ruth Lorraine Nash, 95, finished her time here on
earth on September 8, 2015.
She was born in Boise, Idaho on July 11, 1920. Ruth was adopted by Clark and Amanda Ferguson
of Boise, whose other children were grown and had families. Her nieces, nephews, and cousins, many older
that she, became life-long friends.
After graduating from Boise High School, Ruth worked
as a bookkeeper at Woolworths in Boise and attended Boise Bible College. Her relationship with her Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ sustained her through many physical and emotional trials.
Ruth purchased a home on Shoshone Street in 1943 and
cared for her father and invalid mother there until their deaths. Ruth enjoyed watching and identifying birds in
her yard and was amused by the antics of squirrels. She lived in her home until illness forced
her to sell in 2013.
In 1955 she married Leonard Nash and they shared 36
years together. They loved traveling to
the Oregon Coast as well as to other western states. Friends and family were an important part of
her life.
Survivors include her nieces, Muriel Smith of
Clarkston, WA and Carol Matthews Williams of Horseshoe Bend, ID; nephew, Johnny Matthews of New Meadows,
ID; great-niece, Joanne Ax of Meridian,
ID; and many other great-nieces and
nephews and friends.
Ruth faced death with a profound serenity. She demonstrated her faith by comforting
those she was leaving with assurance that she was ready for her journey through
death unto new life with Christ.
She was blessed with two special Christian friends,
Terry Hurley and Rev. Robert Anthony,
who faithfully made frequent visits during her final years. Home Instead caregivers enabled her to live in her home
until she needed more assistance;
caregiver Karen Wallace became a treasured friend continuing to visit
her at care homes. The staff of Grace
Assisted Living in Meridian, Life Care of Treasure Valley, and Harrison’s Hope
Hospice contributed greatly to her happiness and comfort.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday,
September 15, 2015 at Star Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel on Sunday, Sept.
