Sandra Jean Redman, 65, died on April 29, 2017 at her home.
Sandra was born on September 20, 1951 in Salmon, Idaho to
C.L. and Deloris (Berry) Gilpin.
From her early childhood days, Sandra enjoyed a wonderful
life surrounded by loving grandparents, parents, siblings, and friends. She
loved to spend weekends out on the Gilpin Ranch with her grandparents. It was
always a special treat every summer for her to go camping at Iron Lake with her
family. She spent many years as a member of 4H which was taught by her
grandparents.
Shortly after she graduated from Salmon High School, she met
the love of her life. Sandra married Bruce Allen Redman on July 24, 1970 at the
Methodist Church in Salmon.
Sandra worked with AT&T for 30 years until her
retirement. In her 30 years with AT&T, she had 22 years of perfect
attendance. She started her career as an operator. She then was promoted to a
payroll clerk. Her next adventure was support coordinator for the sales team
and she worked in Florida, New York, Boston, and Chicago.
After 10 years of retirement, she had the opportunity join
on part-time with the crew at Lee’s Candy on October 23, 2008. There she made
many wonderful friends, not only from the staff, but also the clientele.
Sandra had many hobbies. These included quilting, ceramics,
painting, needle point, yard work, bowling, fishing, and camping in her motor
home. She was also a music lover and loved spending time with her family.
She enjoyed Boise State football so much that Bruce and she
were season ticket holders for over 20 years. She also enjoyed taking trips
including going to Disneyland several times, Las Vegas with friends to watch
NASCAR, Branson with her mother and father, northern Idaho with her sister and
brother-in-law, and the annual family reunion campouts in Stanley and Mackay.
Sandra was a member of Fort Running Bear RV Resort. She also
loved to volunteer to help under privileged families at Christmas time.
She was the most amazing mother and wife a daughter and
husband could ever hope for. She was never too busy to take time for her
family. Her love and compassion was so genuine and came straight from her
precious heart. Her two grandsons were the light of her life. She loved those
boys to pieces. Sandra was and still is a true angel in our lives and she will
be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her
sister, Dianne Gilpin Spaeth, all from Salmon, Idaho.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Bruce Allen Redman of
Boise; her daughter, Shawna Redman Boyd (Buddy) of Nampa, Idaho; two grandsons,
Riley Allen Boyd and Morgan James Boyd, both of Nampa; her sister Susan Stout
(Otis) of Salmon; her brother Harold Gilpin (Karen) of Salmon, her
brother-in-law, Scott Spaeth, of Salmon; and 7 nieces and nephews, all of
Salmon.
Memorials in Sandra’s name are suggested to the American
Cancer Society and the Idaho Youth Ranch.
