Sandra (Sandy) Arlene Mary Powers, our beloved wife mother
sister and friend, lost her short but courageous battle to brain cancer Friday,
June 20
th
, 2014, surrounded
by her loving family. Sandy was born to Don and JoMarie Disotell on January 10
th
,
1961, in Chicago, Illinois. Shortly after, the family relocated to Saratoga
Springs, California where she grew up enjoying the views of Santa Cruz and
camping on the California Coast with her family. In 1977 they moved again to
Eagle, Idaho where she graduated from Meridian High School. After high school
she started her career working her way up the banking industry. She left the
bank to pursue her interests in real estate to become a Deputy Ada County
Assessor. Sandy loved her job and the people she worked with, and made several
close friends along the way. Family and
friends will always remember her love for anything with pink and bling, along
with her deep love of all animals, especially her loyal companions Doodle and
Oliver.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived
by her husband Tony, her three loving children Josh, Nate, and Jessica and her
close
sister in law Connie. She is also survived by nine brothers and
sisters and their families. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, June
27
th
at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family
suggests you go out and spend time with the ones you love and appreciate every
special moment.
