Scott Richard Allen, 53, of Nampa, passed away Monday, July 4th after a courageous 1 year battle with Esophagus Cancer. He was born June 27, 1958, in Boise, the son of Richard J. Allen and Leola Jean Folmar Allen. Scott was raised in Boise until the family moved to Decatur, GA in 1970 where he graduated from Southwest Dekalb High School. He returned to Boise in 1976. After working several years in the Food Service Industry, he began working at Hewlett-Packard. He worked there for about 6 years and then returned to the Food Service Industry including operating a family owned business, Lakeview Restaurant in Cascade, ID. The remainder of his employment history has been in Office Equipment Sales.
Scott loved to golf and fish and was always active in sports. He enjoyed auto racing and even drove a race car at Meridian Speedway many years ago. He was an avid NASCAR fan and also loved the Boise State Broncos. Scott and his fiancée enjoyed traveling the past 5 years, visiting areas such as Washington DC, Disneyworld, and Deep Sea Fishing. During this difficult past year Tammy was by Scott’s side, fighting the battle and taking care of him.
Scott is survived by his children, Michael Allen, Darren Rose, Amanda Maloney and Jeff Foubert; fiancée Tammy Ray and her children Jennifer Ray & daughter Erin, Jessica and William Young & daughter Lola and Nick and Shae Lynn Ray; mother Jean Allen, sisters Debra Allen and Linda Burch; several grandchildren, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Richard J. Allen, favorite aunt Birdie Hoy and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Law, Dr. Bridges and the nurses at St Luke’s MSTI and Hospice.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 9th at 2:00pm at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. A reception will follow at the Chapel.
Scott has requested that guests come wearing their favorite sports team apparel. “GO BRONCOS”
