Scott W. Green of Boise, Idaho peacefully passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016, surrounded by his family and close friends.
Scott was born in Boise, Idaho on April 18, 1953 to Ernie and Bette Green. He graduated from Capital High School in 1971 and then went on to graduate from Boise State University in 1975. He was an outstanding student and athlete - especially baseball, a sport he truly loved. He married Donna Nettleton in 1979 and then moved to Seattle in 1982 to start his career with Federal Mogul. Their son Kevin was born on September 21, 1980 and he was truly the love of Scott’s life. Scott and Kevin moved home to Boise, Idaho in 1987 where Scott raised Kevin with the loving help and support of his parents. He touched many young lives during those years and will always be remembered by that special gang of young men as their fun loving mentor of the things that matter most in life. Kevin was part of that gang and was on his way to a very bright future when tragically we lost him in an accident in 2010. This was the most difficult time in Scott’s life and only through the prayers of many and the loving care of his partner Denise French was he able to go on.
In his younger years, he defined what it meant to be cool without trying to be - while at the same time he was always humble and helpful to those in need. He was a private man who never boasted but was extremely confident and a relentless competitor at whatever he did.
Scott started Country Estate Fence in 1988, which was the original vinyl fence company in the valley and successfully retired from that business in 2008. Scott enjoyed his work, but his real passion was working on his cars and truck. He also loved watching high school baseball, so it was pretty common to see Scott, Denise and cousin-in-law John Moore up next to the canal above Borah watching a game.
Scott loved his family and his partner of 17 years Denise French very much. He grew up in a home with deep Christian faith and values and for the last few years of his life he and a couple motley friends grew very close to our Lord Jesus Christ together. So he has left behind those of us he loved still here on earth and is now with his family in heaven. And if you can ski in Heaven I’m pretty sure he’s taking a run with Jesus and Kevin right now…
Scott was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ernie and Bette, his brother Bryan and his son Kevin and is survived by his aunt and her husband Patricia and Al Henderson, his brother Bruce Green, his sister Pam Morris, his partner Denise French and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
His friends and family that were with him at the end want to extend their deepest thanks for the incredible loving care provided for Scott by all the doctors, nurses, aides and support staff at St. Alphonsus hospital. They were incredible and we will never forget all the love they poured out for Scott.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 6th at 1 p.m. at Parkview Christian Church located at 201 West Ustick Rd., Meridian, ID. For more information, please contact Alden Waggoner Funeral Chapel at (208) 376-5400.
