Sherri Ann Austin Jackson

Sherri was born May 12th, 1965 in Idaho Falls, Idaho in the L. D. S. Hospital.  She was born in the same hospital where her father was born in 1941.

Sherri was born to Veeda G. Aldridge Austin and Ken E. Austin of Redwood City, California.

Ken, Veeda and Sherri's big brother Kevin, had moved to Idaho Falls for Sherri to be born in Idaho.  Sherri and her family moved back to California in August of 1965 because her father was an assisting minister in the church there.

In 1970, Sherri started school in Redwood City at Selby Lane Elementary School.  She was there through the first grade in 1971.

While Sherri lived in California she had a second family.  Both Sherri's parents worked full time and spent many hours in church work so Sherri and Kevin spent much time away from home with Wayne, Barbara, Kathy and Tammy Hagan.

Sherri moved to Boise, Idaho with her family in 1972 and lived for a short time with Evelyn Wunderlich, her uncle Pat McDonald's mother.

Sherri started the second grade in Boise at Lowell Elementary in 1972 and after the family had moved to Kootenai Place in 1973, she spent her third grade at Franklin Elementary.

Sherri was also at Pierce Park Lane and Hillside Junior High until she started in the church school, Boise Bible Academy, where she graduated in 1983. Sherri did attend school at Boise State University and the last time she was there with her daughter Sydne.

While Sherri was at Boise Bible Assembly she played the clarinet in the band and was a singer in the church.  She wrote many choruses and expressed her deep thoughts in poetry.

In later years she wrote a number of poems that were inspired by her two daughters, her dog Bruno and the antics of life around her. She loved to draw and was a master at drawing flowers.

After graduation, Sherri worked for the Republican Party, an advertising company and cleaned vacated apartments for extra funds.

The manager of Sterner and Klein, a telemarketing company, hired Sherri as the office manager.  She helped to set up the offices and the call center here in Boise, Idaho and worked there for a number of years.

Sherri was married to Monte Jackson in 1988.  They were blessed with two beauties, Sydne and Hailey. Sherri was determined to stay at home and make her girls the focus of her life.  You could say that Sherri was a Super Mom setting a very high standard of motherhood.  She gave all of herself to Sydne and Hailey.

All her life, Sherri was determined to teach, educate and nurture young children.  When she was a student at Boise Bible Academy, she was a monitor and teacher for the pre-school and the first level children.  Sherri could teach them to read in six weeks and at their six weeks graduation from her class she would have them read the Bible for their parents.  Sherri had started out doing this in her "upstairs class" for any child that wanted a young and loving tutor.

Sherri's last job was her most fulfilling as she became the Mama Bird at Arts West.  She was an administrator, recruiter and fundraiser for the school, however,   her real calling was saving and nurturing the "little birds" when and where ever she found them.

Sherri died January 2, 2013 at 11:15 AM with family and friends gathered by her side helping her through her transition. Sherri died at the same hospital where her brother and daughters were born.

Her maternal grandparents, Herman and Lucille Aldridge, her mother Veeda Allen, her paternal grandparents, Donald and Evalyn Austin and her aunt Donna Sargeant, preceded Sherri in death.
