Sherry Kae Everheart went to be with Jesus on May 7, 2023. She died peacefully at home with her family beside her. She was born on July 22, 1938 in Bogue, Kansas to parents Henry and Lois Freymuth. They moved to Emmett, Idaho when she was a small child where she attended elementary school. They later moved to Boise where she attended North Jr. High School and Boise High School. She was four years old when her father left the family, but Lois remarried Leon Huff and he became dad to her and her two sisters, Shelia and Carol. Years later a brother, Kirk , joined the family.
Sherry married Robert W. Everheart on November 23, 1955 in Boise. They had four Children, Deborah, Susan, Daniel and Michael. She became a widow at age 43 when dad died from cancer. Several years later she met Richard Bordwell, and they remained partners for nearly thirty years until his death in 2020.
Sherry worked as a bookkeeper for most of her adult life at Leisure Industries, Idaho Bit and Steel and from 1986 until retirement at Boise State University.
After retirement she took up quilting as a hobby and became very accomplished. She made dozens of beautiful quilts for her family and friends, church auctions and her grandson’s fraternity house auctions.
Mom was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, her greatest joy coming from caring for her family. She loved hosting Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas Eve with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and brother and sister-in-law all packed into her tiny home. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and when they were young, she taught them to make ceramic figures. Her smile radiated such joy as she got to spend time with her great grandchildren. Not a day went by that she didn’t ask about each one. She knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior and attended Valley Shepherd Church for several years until a back injury made it difficult for her to be there.
These few words don’t begin to do justice to the remarkable women she was. She leaves a legacy of faith in God and loving and caring for people that we should all aspire to. We love you mom; you will be greatly missed.
Sherry was preceded in death by husband Robert Everheart, mother Lois Huff, daughter Susan White, son Daniel Everheart, grandson Derek Arnold and sister Carol Wood. She is survived by daughter Deborah (Bob) Arnold, son Michael (Korene) Everheart, sister Shelia Clark, brother and sister in-law Kirk and Cynda Huff, grandchildren Brian (Andi) Arnold, Kyle Arnold, Josh (Michelle) White, Ethan White, Jessi (Rob) Shockley, Danielle Everheart, Matthew Everheart, and greatgrandchildren Alice, Derek, Ember, Violet, Oak, Arianna, Henry and Eligh.
