Shirley Maxine Edwards was born April 14, 1953 to Glen and Maxine Young in Marsing, ID. She was the younger sister to Nancy and Tommy and big sister to Terry, all of which called her Shorty. She enjoyed her childhood on the farm playing with the animals. She especially loved her dogs all named Brownie and their Shetland pony Ginger.
The family moved to Middleton when Shirley was in 7th grade and she graduated Salutatorian from Middleton High in 1971.
She married Ned Edwards in July of 1972 and together they raised five children. She was a stay at home Mom raising her children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. She was a member of the Followers of Christ Church and faithful until the end.
Once her kids were raised she worked along side all her children and grandchildren at Todd’s Burger Den. She loved when the brothern would come in to eat. She said it felt like having them for dinner. She also enjoyed taking pictures of her great nieces and nephews making their first icecream cones. She retired in 2020.
Shirley spent her final years living in Caldwell with her sister and daughter. She spent her time making scrapbooks for her great nieces and nephews, going on vacations to the ocean and taking pictures to turn into cards.
She is preceded in death by her parents Glen and Maxine Young, her husband Ned, brother Tommy Young, and daughter in law Leanna Edwards.
She is survived by her children Sharla Anderson, Todd Edwards, Mark Edwards, Karla Edwards, Justin and Nicole Edwards. Her grandchildren Trennis Anderson, Tyler and Faye Anderson, Garret and Shay Edwards and William Edwards. Her sister Nancy Eells and brother Terry and Sherry Young and many nieces and nephews.
