Steve Oliver

Steven F. Oliver was born in Boise, Idaho on March 25, 1950, to Dolly V. and J. Frank Oliver.  Steve valued sports from a young age.  When he finished his chores he could be found outside playing anything from tetherball to riding bikes.  Steve attended Garfield, East, and Boise High where he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball.  Steve attended Boise State where he played basketball and went on to get his business degree.

After college Steve used his personality and talent to sell building materials for most of his life.  Many people in the construction trade were happy to have Steve as a friend.

Ollie never lost his love for sports and kept on playing as long as he could.  He had many friends on the various organized teams he was on and in the infamous Wednesday Night Ball.  He always enjoyed watching sports, from kids to high school to college, and especially the Broncos.

One of Steve’s best friends was his sister Sandy; they loved to travel with their friends and often followed the Broncos to their championships.  Steve loved sharing his places in McCall and New Meadows.

Big Steve really enjoyed eating out, his nights out with the boys, and the time he spent bantering with waitresses.  He was always fun to be around, and knew how to keep the conversation lively.  He had the ability to push the right buttons to get a response from people.

Survivors include his aunts Minnie (Chuck) and Marvel; Sandy’s husband Gary; Karma; and numerous cousins and their families; and his large family of friends.

Big O, we miss you.

A service is scheduled for Tuesday April 9, 2013, 2:30 pm at Dry Creek Cemetery.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
