Ted L. Lindley, 84, passed away December 11, 2014 at his
home in Boise, Idaho. He was born August 25, 1930 to Boyde and Edna Cannon
Lindley. He grew up in Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High School in
1948. While in high school, he was very active in all bands and would play in
the Elks dance band on the week-ends. After high school graduation, he attended
Lewis Clark Normal School until it closed. He then transferred to the
University of Idaho where he graduated in 1952 with a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Business Education.
After serving in the military, he went back to the
University of Idaho and received his Master degree in Education Administration.
His administrative career started as a principal at North Elementary School in
Mountain Home, Idaho. In 1960, he moved to Chattaroy, Washington as a principal
of the elementary school. In 1976, he accepted a position with the Idaho State
Department of Education in Boise, Idaho as National Diffusion Network
consultant from Idaho. He retired from this position in 1990.
Ted was a member of the Lewiston Masonic Lodge for over 50
years.
Ted is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marleta Henderson
Lindley and their son, John Lindley of Parma, Idaho and their daughter, Janet
(Dean) Metzger and two grandchildren, Michael and Katie Metzger, all of Nampa,
Idaho.
The family would like to thank the late Dr. Paul Ryan, his
caregivers, and First Choice Hospice for the excellent care Ted received.
At Ted's request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu
of flowers, memorials may be made to Knights of Columbus, 3100 E. Hubbard Road,
Meridian, Idaho 83642.
