Terry Lowell Litke

Terry Lowell Litke went to be with Jesus on June 18, 2023 after a six week battle following complications from a routine surgery. While we never gave up hope, we saw Terry suffer over the six weeks and know he is now with Jesus and no longer in pain.

Born on July 24, 1975 in Nampa, ID to Terry D. and Lavina Litke, Terry’s childhood and school years were spent in Ontario, OR. After highschool graduation, he attended Northwest Nazarene University for two years. In the summer of 1997, Terry went to Alaska to fish. It was on his trip back to college that Terry met his future wife Melinda. That meeting led to him deciding to quit school and instead focus on making sure Melinda married him. Terry was successful in his pursuit of Melinda and they married on June 12, 1998. He was so proud of their approaching 25th anniversary this June and was looking forward to celebrating it. While the celebration was not what was planned, Terry held on long enough to make this milestone.

Together, Terry and Melinda are the proud parents of five children - Annalisa (Annie), Michael, Samuel (Sam), Callie, and Isaac. They kicked off their family with a bang welcoming twins Annie and Michael in November of 2005. The twins were followed by Sam in March of 2010, Callie in January of 2012, and Isaac in March of 2016. Terry’s kids meant the world to him; he was devoted to each of them and was so pleased to see the wonderful, Godly individuals they were growing up to be. He loved family time especially family game night, bonfires, and camping trips. Attending church as a family was always a priority for Terry and he was thrilled the kids were taking an interest in serving alongside him. Terry was self-employed and loved that it gave him the ability to spend more time with family and to include his kids in the work.

Along with his family, Terry deeply valued his relationship with God and serving in leadership roles in his church. The River’s Edge Church community was like family to Terry. Recently as he had stepped up in leadership in the church, Terry realized he had a talent for preaching and enjoyed serving in that role.

Known as a fun loving guy, Terry was a jokester who loved a good prank. He always enjoyed hosting large groups of friends and the church rec groups at their home. Terry had many interests and in his free time liked to golf, go shooting, bowl, and play flag football and basketball.

Terry is survived by: his wife of 25 years Melinda and his children, Annie, Michael, Sam, Callie, and Isaac; his parents Terry D. and Lavina Litke; his siblings Craig Litke, Christy Ellis (Keith), and Leah Neumann (Kelly); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews. He is met in heaven by his grandparents Leroy and Wanda Norlin and Lowell and Wava Litke and his nephew Ben Neumann.

The family will hold a celebration of Terry’s life on Friday, June 30 at 2 PM at River’s Edge Church located at 2119 Overland Road, Boise. To honor Terry’s love of life, the family is requesting that attendees wear dressy casual attire in cheerful colors.
