V. Eloise Fisher, age 90, died March 2, 2013 at a local care
facility. Eloise was born September 29, 1922

Idaho to parents Meda Kate (Houk) and Ernest Billiard
.
Her
father was the foreman of a sheep ranch. When Eloise was a young girl the
family moved to the Hagerman Valley where her father eventually began working
for Idaho Power Company
.
Her parents had two other chi
l
dren,
Virginia Eileen Billiard and Mac Billiard.
Eloise attended school in Hagerman. After graduating High School
she attended and graduated from the State Teacher College at Albion, Idaho (
1
942).
She taught school in various towns in South Western and South Eastern Idaho.
Later she worked a
t
the State Capitol Building
.
She
met Merold Fisher, a returning WWII veteran and Boise Post Office employee in
1946. They married in 1946 and had two children, a son Gregory and a daughter
Kellee.
After Merold's retirement from the US Postal Service in 1973,
the couple traveled extensively in their RV and spent summers in the Cascade
area. Eloise enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She was active in a number
of local church cho

ation of the Boise Rescue Mission sometimes cooking meals fo
r
the
men living at the mission
.
In 2007
,
Ill health forced the couple's move from their Boise home to
assisted living and, later, nursing care
.
Eloise
was preceded in death by her husband Merold
,
her
parents and her sister, Virginia Eileen Wood. She is survived by her brother
Mac (Janet), son Gregory (Diane) and daughter Kellee Ne
l
son
.
She
leaves behind six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
At her request, no services w
i
ll
be held. At a
l
ate
r
date
,
a private inurnment of her ashes will be conducted at the Idaho State
Veterans Cemetery
.
