Vern R. Alleman, 89,
of Meridian, ID, died Saturday, June 13, 2015 in a Meridian care center.
Vern was born on
January 4, 1926 in Hayden, CO. When he
was a youngster the family moved to Spearfish, SD. Vern kept busy as a young fellow mowing
lawns, tending gardens, and working on a dairy. He graduated from Spearfish
High School and then enlisted in the US Navy and served most of the Naval time
in the South Pacific in WWII. After he
was discharged he moved to Bridgeport, NE where he served as a clerk in the US
Postal Service.
Vern met Angelina
Fillis and they were married. They had
two sons, Glen and Duane.
In 1963 Vern and his
family moved to Meridian, ID. He worked
as an insurance agent for several years and then went back to work for the US
Postal Service as a clerk in the Boise main office.
After retirement he
pursued his interests in farming and cattle raising.
Survivors include
his wife, Ann; sons, Glen and Duane; several grandchildren and
great-grandchildren; and brothers, Fred and Lloyd. He was preceded in death by his brothers,
Loren, Arthur and Duane (Ike).
A committal service
will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the Idaho State Veterans
Cemetery. Friends may call at the
Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Monday, June 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
