Victor Constantine Cocotis

Our beloved Victor Constantine Cocotis passed away unexpectedly on Thursday April 12th in Boise ID, at the age of 73.  Vic traveled all over the west, and in 1973 he opened Western Homes Construction Company in Boise. He then opened the Symposion Cocktail Bar in 1975, which is still going strong today. Once voted the Best in Boise, The “Sympo” is known as a friendly neighborhood bar where dogs are welcome. Vic was an entrepreneur who enjoyed spending time at the bar surrounded by patrons that frequented, a few of which soon became his family. Vic also enjoyed playing chess, shooting pool, spending time with his dog Shasta and traveling when he could to the mountains at Yellow Pine. He was a proud American Greek who loved our country. Vic was a very smart business man with a keen insight and intelligent perspective to the world around him. His loss has impacted many in the community and he will forever be missed and loved by many.

Victor leaves behind a loving sister Darlene Leverenz, her children Christopher, Annamarie, and Vincent. His sister in law Agnes Cocotis, and her children Gregory, Tommy, Connie and Paul, and his loving Fiancé Diana Kingma. Victor is preceded in death by his parents Gus and Josephine Cocotis, and his brother Lt. Commander Bruce Cocotis.

A Memorial mass will be held at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church located at 2612 W. State street on May 2nd at 4:00. Followed by a celebration of life at the Symposiun located at 2801 Fletcher Street in Boise.

May his memory be eternal.
