Violet A. Hultstrand
Violet Augusta Hultstrand, 98 passed away peacefully on August
23, 2013. She was born on September 27th, 1914 in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota to
Henry and Sophia (Thun) Koebernick
.
Sadly,
Sophia died giving birth. Her Dad remarried Cecile ( Frazier) and they raised
Violet while adding four more children to their family.
Violet married Gunnar R. Hultstrand in 1933 and made their home
in Minnesota until moving to Boise
,
Idaho
in 1956 where they were employed by Joe and Kay Albertson for 20 years
.
Their
flower clad garden home was always open for a cup of coffee and home baked
treats, especially her widely known homemade carmel rolls. Each of her
cherished grandchildren were fortunate to have her loving hands bake a tiered
wedding cake for their wedding day.
Violet was a light of smiles
,
warmth
and giving love
.
She was a
"
lifelong active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Her faith
and love of family and friends was always evident
.
She was
a member of the Colombian Club, Happy Hoofers Walking Group, the Footnote
Singers and the U of I County Extens
i
on. She loved to travel
and visited many parts of the world. She loved music and dancing
,
playing
whist and pinochle and had a very special way interacting with children, making
her a favorite Grandma and Great Granny.
She was fortunate to remain living in her home until she was 94
years old. A very special thank-you goes out to the Life’s Doors Hospice and Overland
Court caregivers for their loving care during her last years.
Violet is survived by her son Roger Hultstrand and his wife Joanne
of
Boise; daughter
,
Bonnie Hultstrand of Bayview,
Idaho; daughter, Jane Walker of Boise; grandchildren, Laurie McCauley (Drew),
Susan Wiet
(Gregory)
,
Julie Bernstein (Charles ), Kelly Johnson (Kathrine) Scott
Johnson (Kate); seventeen great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Orlene
and Bessie Koebernick. She is preceded in death by her husband

A private graveside service was held
at Morris Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel,
Boise. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Sept. 2, at 11:30 a.m., in
the Augustana Chapel (Immanuel Lutheran Church, 707 Fort St.) Lunch following
at Scott and Kate Johnson’s, 2617 Starcrest Dr., Boise.
In lieu of flowers the family requests
