Virginia Harner (Ginnie)
Frink, 96, died May 12, 2014 at her daughter's home.
Private family services will be held under
the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be at Morris Hill Cemetery.
Ginnie was born March 18,
1918 at Yonkers, New York to Guy and Jeannie Draper Harner. She attended St. Lawrence University in
Canton, New York and was married to John W. (Jack) Frink on September 8, 1939
in Scarsdale, New York.
Ginnie accompanied Jack to
many locations where his employment as a ground water geologist took them,
including Turkey and Sri Lanka. While
residing in Turkey, Ginnie was trained by the Georgetown University English
Language program to teach English to Turkish nationals who were coming to the
United States to continue their education.
After coming to Boise in 1962
Ginnie took a position with the Boise Philharmonic; she later served for many
years as a Welcome Wagon hostess. She
has been actively associated with the League of Women Voters and the Council on
Foreign Relations.
Survivors include her son
Kenneth of Nampa and daughter Suzanne Frisk of Boise and their spouses;
grandsons John Frisk and Shaun Frink; great-granddaughters Ella and Paige
Frisk. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Jack, in 2003; parents, sister, and grandsons, Noel Frink and Marc
Frisk.
