Wade B. Eller, 95, Boise, died on Monday January 4, 2016. Wade was born October 20, 1920 in Stratton Nebraska, the son of Vern and Stella Eller. He attended school in Stratton and graduated from high school in May of 1937. Wade was married to Mildred Updike on December 1, 1939. They raised two sons, Gerald and Douglas.
Wade served in the Navy from January 1945 to April 1946. He worked in Nebraska until 1963 when he and Mildred moved to Boise where he was a general agent for Security Mutual Life Insurance Company until his retirement in the early 1990’s.
Wade and Mildred were charter members of the Syringa Squares square dance club. Wade participated in establishing the Boise Square Dance Center on West Diamond Street. In their later years Wade and Mildred spent winters in Nevada and Arizona, and often spent summers in Montana with their RV trailer. Wade was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed fishing from his boat for trout and hunting ducks and geese. He was a member of Trout Unlimited and Ducks Unlimited. Wade was actively involved with the activities of Ducks Unlimited and helped establish the Nampa chapter.
Wade was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred of 67 years, his parents, sister, and two brothers. He is survived by his two sons, Gerald and wife Ann and Douglas and wife Beverly; grandchildren Mike and wife Christy Eller, Gera and husband Mike Ashton, Byron Eller, Julie and husband Brian Walsh; great-grandchildren Joe Eller and Taylor Ashton.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Garden Plaza of Valley View where Wade was living and to the staff at St. Alphonsus Hospital. Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. A private inurnment at the Veteran’s Cemetery will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016. A reception for friends and family will be Friday at 2:00pm at Alden-Waggoner, 5400 Fairview Avenue, Boise.
