Walter "Walt" Lyman Bonney was born on May 30, 1927 in Gannett,
Idaho. He passed away on February 20,
2015 in Boise, Idaho.
He was the son of Walter L. Bonney and Gretchen Alma
Roler. He lived in Emmett, Idaho until
1941, served in the Navy in World War II, and lived two years in Mtn. City,
Nevada. He married Delorise R. Burgess on
July 21, 1950, in Meridian, Idaho. Once
married, the couple lived in Boise, Idaho.
Throughout his career, Walter worked in the mine at Rio
Tinto, Nevada, then contracted painting and paper hanging until his retirement.
Walter had many hobbies which included fishing and
hunting. He also enjoyed camping and
traveling. He was also a member of the
Eagle Christian Church.
Walter was preceded in death by his mother, Gretchen Bonney
(Roler), his father, Walter Bonney Sr., and his sister, Jean Kennison.
He is survived by his wife, Delorise Bonney. His children: Gary Bonney, Diana Schlekeway
(Chuck), Dennis Bonney, 9 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Cecile
Peterson.
