Wayne Adams, 94, longtime Eagle resident passed away at home December 1, 2011.

Wayne was born Feb 25, 1917, in Montgomery County, Kansas, the only child of William E. Adams and Florence Hamilton Adams . He came to Idaho at age 12 and lived on rented farms in the Star area, graduating from Star High School in 1935. In 1944 he and his parents bought a farm in Eagle, his current home sits on the back forty. Shortly thereafter, he joined the army and was in Manila when Japan was bombed. He was part of the Occupation of Japan.

Wayne married Helen “Kim” Kimball, of Park City ,Utah on August 28, 1947 and they loved happily until her passing in 2009. He farmed and had a small dairy but much preferred raising Herefords. He served on the board of directors of several organizations including Co-op Oil, Federal Landbank, ASCS, and Western Idaho Fair . Wayne was a member of Pierce Park Grange throughout his life and had in previous years been a member of the Ada County Agrarians and Payette River Cattleman's Assn. In later years, he and Helen had time to travel some with their grandkids, but then spent many happy days at the Eagle senior center playing pinochle, and visiting with friends. The family offers special thanks to all the people who assisted him and provided transportation.

He is survived by daughter Gwen Adams of Eugene, OR and sons Carl (Janet) of Meridian and Paul (Kathy) of Middleton, grandchildren Gordon, Deanna, Melissa, and Marci, six great grandchildren, and numerous, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Helen.

Services will be at Eagle United Methodist Church, 651 N. Eagle Road, Friday, Dec. 9th with a viewing at 10:00 and service at 11:00. Interment at Dry Creek Cemetery will follow. Services are under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
