William Henry (Bill) Johnson of Boise went home to his
Heavenly Father August 14, 2013. A
memorial service will be held Saturday, August 17 at 11:00 AM at Alden Waggoner
Funeral Chapel in Boise.
Bill was born August 31, 1922 in
Putman County
,
Indiana
to Roy and Modesta Johnson. He was the oldest of five children. He grew up farming in
Indiana
and later attended college at
Northwestern
University
. Bill married Lois (Gerry) Stine November 3,
1945 and they had three children Pam, Alan, and Anita. He served in the Army Air Force and then had a
career in transportation management with E.I. duPont in
Delaware
and then Boise Cascade in
Boise
for 23 years. Bill and Gerry enjoyed
retirement years touring the country with the Wally Byam Airstream Club and the
Mobile Missionary Assistance Program.
Bill was an active member of the
New Hope
Church
of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Gerry Johnson and
their children Pam Stricklin, Alan Johnson, and Anita Brewer, grandchildren
Steve Collins, Kim Ortiz, Landa Manbilawi, Casey, Nolan, and Keith Brewer and
several great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made to the
New Hope
Church
of the Nazarene,
Boise
.
