Wynona Joyce Cordum, 81, of Yukon, OK, passed away on Dec. 18, 2013 at her son’s home in Boise of natural causes.

Joyce was born on Feb. 2, 1932, in Windsor, MO to Lorene Cox Christian and Amos Burnham Christian. She graduated in 1949 from Sullivan H.S. in Sullivan, MO, and then from Northeastern Oklahoma Jr. College in 1951. She married Myron Alfred Cordum in Miami, OK on May 22, 1951. She then graduated from Austin Peay College with a degree in Education. They called Oklahoma their home for many years, where her husband practiced medicine and Joyce was very involved with her community and church. Her special interests included her family, reading, needle-working, fishing, and volunteering at her church. She was a member, and the first female president of the Putnam City School Board.  She enjoyed quilting and watching college sports, especially OU football. When her children were young, she enjoyed coaching youth sports. She was also a part of the Historical Preservation Committee in Oklahoma City. Joyce enjoyed raising English Bulldogs (Sooner, Geraldine, LeRoy, Mini, Sylvia, Annie May and Sophie just to name a few).

Joyce is survived by her husband, Myron Alfred Cordum of Oklahoma City; Son, Nic Roland Cordum of Boise; daughters, Tracy Lynn Hahnle of Sanger, TX and Myrna Kay Swarsbrook of Prescott, AZ; sister, Naomi Junne Anderson; brother, Ray Allen Christian; grandsons Jacob Tyler Jones, Russell Christian Cordum and Jesse Gabriel Cordum; and granddaughter, Samantha Nicole Cordum.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joan Elaine Long; and a brother, Richard Christian.
