Hardwood caskets offer warmth, beauty and are hand crafted like fine furniture.  Constructed from mahogany, walnut, cherry, maple, oak, pine and poplar, wood caskets are priced by specie of wood, craftsmanship and interior.

An outer burial container is a receptacle that encloses the casket in the grave and prevents the grave from settling.  Almost every cemetery will require a grave liner to be used.  Types of containers include concrete boxes (grave liners) and burial vaults designed to protect the casket from underground water.  Vaults may be made of cement, ABS plastic, or steel.

In most areas of the country, no state or local law makes you buy a container to surround the casket in the grave. However, many cemeteries ask that you have such a container so that the grave will not sink in. Either a burial vault or grave liner will satisfy these requirements.
